Minutes of the 29" meeting of State level Environment Impact Assessment Authority, Jharkhand, held on 02" April, 2015. The 29"'meeting of the State Level Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) was convened ‘on 02/04/2015 at the office of SEIAA, Ranchi. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Gurdeep Singh, Chairman, SEIAA, Jharkhand. The attendance at the meeting is as follows: 1. Dr. Gurdeep Singh, Chairman, SEIAA , Jharkhand, Ranchi. 2. Shri A.K Prabhakar, Member Secretary, SEIAA, Jharkhand, Ranchi. The decisions taken in the 29” SEIAA meeting are as follows - 1. Minutes of the meeting of SEIAA, Jharkhand held on 30"December, 2014 were confirmed. 2. SEIAA decides that undertaking by project proponent related to Environmental Clearance must be mentioned in Environmental Clearance letter’s condition. 3. The proposal considered in today’s meeting to agree upon to issue Environmental Clearance provided the project under consideration has:- a) Obtained all legal rights to operate at concerned place. b) Complied with all existing concerned laws of the land and ¢) Complied with the decisions of SEIAA on the issue of Environmental Clearance till date. For all clearances granted award in the past, if the project fails to comply with any of the provisions noted above, the earlier issued clearance shall stand cancelled. 4. SEIAA considered the recommendations made by SEAC to grant the Environmental Clearance to the following project proposals related to Brick Clay Mining - ‘A. This proposal is the case of violation. The mine is operating for last 40 years but so far, neither they obtained the EC nor CTO from JSPCB. While considering the beneficiation plant which is very near to the river and the present status of Solid Waste Disposal as well as effluent disposal of the plant, the proposal cannot be considered for TOR without the site visit and also the status from the JSPCB. In this context, a letter to JSPCB regarding the present status of operations and the status of environment is to be sent for ascertaining the facts, before the EC is considered.
