Describing Events GRASPS

Unit 4: Applications of Probability

Goal: Describe two events of your choice for an advertising
company.
Role: You have been hired by an advertising company.
Audience: You want to describe the events using a Venn Diagram
and subsets to the board members that hired you.
Situation: Survey 25 random people about two events of your
choice. For example, ask 25 people if they want like McDonalds,
Wendys, both, or neither. After you have gathered your data, you
will create a Venn Diagram and describe the events listed in this
GRASPS.
Product: You will be responsible for handing the following materials
listed below, so your client can use your data to make decisions
about upcoming commercials.
1. Data Collection Sheet
2. Venn Diagram
3. Describing Events Page
4. Presentation (examples: PowerPoint, Prezi, Glogster, etc.)
5. Rubric

Standards: The rubric for success is on the back of this sheet. In

completing this project it is important that you be able to show
mathematical accuracy.
