Week of June 7 - 11
Reading This week students will be asked to create an
advertisement for their current reading book. This
advertisement will be in poster form and will contain
information relating to main events from the story,
bringing it to life and expressing why it would be a good
book for others to read.

We will also complete an activity which was unable to be

completed last week due to the testing schedule. In
connection with our current Unit of Inquiry, How We
Express Ourselves, students will be asked to write a letter
to one of the main characters of their book, in part to
develop the strategy of questioning in their reading.
The students have new spelling words and their
assessment will be on Thrusday.

Math
With the year growing very short, we
will be completing selected lessons
from unit eight this week.
The first part of the week will be spent
on fractions, with practice on adding
and subtracting mixed numbers.
The later part of the week we will focus on finding fractions of fractions,
which will lead into the multiplication
of fractions.
