United Nations letter

Dear: Ban Ki-Moon

In the world today we have evolved so much from people not being
connected and the many diverse ways of life of which we act in. Globalization has
taken such a big meaning to life today and it can be related to many things like the
Europeans that accept that increasing global economic, political, and cultural
exchange can enrich their country and their lives. They also believe that a strong
European Union can help them take advantage of globalization's benefits while
protecting them from its negative effects. With the Russians, the western trends
have dominated them with their knowledge of exploration and their advanced
technology to help out Russias culture and economy. From the years 1960 to 1995
Russia had showed a strong tendency toward modernization although the speed of
change is not always as fast as the west. This is similar to Western Societies,
Russias population is aging, unemployment clearly seen among the young, and a
new class of young professionals is emerging. The ways of marriage is losing its
significance and religious beliefs and habits are becoming more diversified. Now
with the Latin Americans, they fought for globalization rebelling constantly against
their dictators and claiming independence for themselves and their country. They
are now embracing globalization creating giant futbol stadiums, international trade
and protecting the Amazon rain forest.
Why am I talking about all of this? Simply because I want to address an issue
you are currently dealing with and just help you out a bit. Empowering women is a
big thing nowadays and your communication and determination is great to see on
how youre handling the issue. With your campaign "Unite to End Violence against
Women, your initiative stop rape now, Network of Men Leaders and the
establishment of a new Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict has
been a fantastic way to really show that women should and can be part of more
men related things because of their knowledge and strength. Furthermore, with
Women in the world of globalization, they have played a huge part in shaping our
world. Such that in earlier Russia, before 1990, Women earned about 70 percent in
wages from jobs in comparison to men. By 2000, only 40 percent was being made
compared to the male in Russia. The sex segregation in the labor force under
recent globalization has contributed to a bigger wage gap between male and female
workers plus in western nations women earn 10-25 percent less than males as well.
With all that said, we can see that women are not as appreciated as men for some
reason and it is a good thing that you are trying to unify women into the workforce
and with playing a bigger role in the government.
A second issue that you dealing with now is supporting countries facing crisis
or instability. When I hear about this I think of Greece with their poor economy and
Turkey who wants to join the EU but cant because of Turkey having a population of
75+ million and if the country entered the EU today, they would be the second
largest member state behind Germany. This would mean an instant shift of power in
almost every EU institution. Also, Turkey's record on human rights and EU member
states must allow free access of goods and trade from other EU members. So far,
Turkey has refused to allow trade with Cyprus, which is an EU member since 2004.

In conclusion, globalization has played a big role in the world having good and bad
effects on it from the current wars with ISIS to the improving the economy in many
countries and saving people from various hardships. What you and your coworkers
are doing is a good thing and I am very happy to have you as our United Nations
secretary general. So is a lot of people apparently as well considering youve got
reelected many times.
Keep it up Moon, Sincerely Austin Gaber
