Laboratory-centered, this course will include a study of: the nature of chemistry; matter; chemical and
physical properties and changes; atomic structure and the periodic table; bonding and nomenclature;
reactions; stoichiometry; equilibrium; gases; and solutions. Emphasis is placed on the utilization of
mathematical, analytical, data acquisition, and communication skills as well as interdisciplinary approaches
to discovery.
