Abstract

The experiment was done by using calorimeter which is The Boys NonRecording Gas Calorimeter. This calorimeter is us to determine the calorific
value of a large range of gaseous fuels. From this experiment we will achieve
the calorific value of natural gas and gas volume factor. Before the
experiments begin, we need to access the local reading of Barometric
pressure and a stopwatch. From the experiment, some values need to record
like the amount of water collected, the temperature of the gas and also
temperature of water inlet and outlet. The experiment was repeat three
times and the average values need to be record. From the values recorded,
we need to calculate the gas volume factor form the table given from the
lecturer. The gas volume factor also can be calculate by using the formula
given in the lab manual. After the experiment finished, the calorific value of
gas need to be calculated to achieve the objective of the experiment .
