End Of Course Reflection: Biology
There are many questions yet to answer for me in biology. Some of the questions we
answered this year was what does it mean to be alive? , is race real? and why is it important
to study the biology behind heredity? The essential questions will help me have a greater
appreciation for living things. I really never thought about how leave were alive. I only saw them
change colors and saw how beautiful they looked but I really never knew they have cells, or how
they changed color. An essential question that will make me have a greater appreciation for
living things is, is race real? This made me have a greater appreciation of people and not
categorize them in racial groups. In history I learned that race exists because we came up with
the term to categorize people in groups. However, in biology I learned that race doesnt really
exist and that were 99.9% identical to one another genetically.
Throughout the year I realized that there were some topics that were hard for me to
understand. A topic that was difficult for me to understand was protein production. While we
learned about protein production we also had to learn the process in which it happens. It didnt
help that I dont have a great memory. However, as we learned about protein production, I was
hesitant in asking questions. If I asked questions I wouldve had a much clearer understanding.
In the future will ask more questions and think more thoroughly to have a better understanding of
the material be taught.

Biology is the study of life and living organisms. It impacted me because I was able to
learn about proteins, how the brain work and genetics. This will help me in the future because I
now know about the brain and its functions and how some things can affect each other. Learning
biology will help me with my future career of becoming a doctor or a speech pathologist,
because it all consists of science and understanding the anatomy of people.
