Part II: Reflection

CANDIDATE REFLECTIONS:
(Minimum of 3-4 sentences per question)

1. Briefly describe the field experience. What did you learn about technology facilitation and
leadership from completing this field experience?
The field experience was to create a WebQuest using design principals learned throughout the
course. All of the skill tasks were implemented in the final project. I learned that I still have a lot
to learn and that effective use of technology for teaching takes planning to ensure that students are
fully engaged and learning. For students to learn from technology the technology tool has to be
demonstrated and understood so when its time for learning the focus is not on the mechanics but
the actual learning.

2. How did this learning relate to the knowledge (what must you know), skills (what must you
be able to do) and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs, enthusiasm) required of a technology
facilitator or technology leader? (Refer to the standards you selected in Part I. Use the
language of the PSC standards in your answer and reflect on all 3knowledge, skills, and
dispositions.)
Knowledge: In order to accomplish the goal of completing this task I had to know how to create a
audio file and embed it in the project, I had to know design principles, I had to know how to
upload video and I needed to know about copyright laws.
Skills: Because of this assignment I am able to facilitate the use of digital tools and resources to
engage students in authentic learning experiences. I can aid in the effective use of digital tools to
support and enhance higher-ordered thinking skills from my students.
Dispositions: I am excited about sharing my vision for the effective use of technology tools to
promote excellence in my school and district.

3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or
student learning at your school. How can the impact be assessed?
I believe this field experience will impact my schools improvement in a positive way. After this
class I will take the time to evaluate my own technology lessons and identify the skill set that I
need to teach my students and be able to identify technical issues that may arise. As a department
head I can now offer coaching to the teachers on my team to help them develop lessons that
effectively use technology to enhance learning goals.
