    DESCRIBE ONE SIGNIFICANT LEARNING EXPERIENCE IN THIS COURSE RELATED


    TO THE CLPNA COMPETENCY. PROVIDE AN EXAMPLE.

    Recently working on our assignment (research paper) I chose to learn more about Schizophrenia and
    chose a movie character and went on researched on his behavior and all other related aspects of the
    disorder. All the different aspects I learned about Schizophrenia helped me differentiate it from other
    mental illnesses even though it sometimes get related to other mental illnesses like mood disorder, etc

    DESCRIBE WHAT YOU LEARNED AND HOW IT RELATES TO THE COMPETENCY.


    EXPLAIN WHY IT WAS MEANINGFUL.

    There were things I had never thought of would associate with Schizophrenia before such as the
    smartness that lies behind an ill mind can often go un-noticed just because they don't behave the way the
    society wants them to and such unawareness could have lead to a different viewpoint towards the client
    then what I have now.

    USES THE PROFICIENCY CATEGORIES TO RATE THEIR PROFICIENCY IN THE


    CHOSEN CLPNA COMPETENCY. EXPLAIN WHAT WAS DONE TO ACHIEVE THE
    COMPETENCY.

    I had use "Fair" to rate my proficiency in the above mentioned CLPNA competency as I never got a
    chance to work with the mentally ill clients yet to gain the hand on experience and knowledge.
    The research paper was one of the biggest help to me in gaining the required knowledge as well as the
    PowerPoint, other related course readings.

    DESCRIBE HOW YOU WILL APPLY THIS LEARNING IN YOUR CURRENT AND
    FUTURE NURSING PRACTICE If

    I was not aware of the fact how important it is to monitor the mental status of my client as even though
    they seems to be sick and yes they are sick but that does not mean they are not smart people. It might

    have never clicked to my mind in the real world while caring for a client suffering from schizophrenia
    that I have to keep an eye on their behavior closely.
