Thisproject,wewilltrytouseaformulawehavelearnfromtheclasstogenerateanelectricity
frommagneticfield.Asourdailylifeweuseelectricityalldayandnightandeverytimesthat
youwanttolooksomethingbutwedontknowhowtocreateanelectricitytouse.Thiswillhelp
tounderstandhowtheelectricitytransfersfromthisformulaV=IRandEMF=BLVsin .Our
planistobuildasimplegeneratortolightup.

Procedure
1. Cuttheironstripinto10equalparts,assemblethesepartandcoverthesestripsbypaper
tapesoeachstripwillsticktoeachother.
2. Wrapitwithapproximately300turnsofcopperwireverticallyandusepapertapeto
secureit.
3. CutthePVCpipeinto5pieces,twoofthemare0.5centimetersindiameterandtheother
is1.5centimeters,andanothertwoare2.5centimeters.

4. Stickthemagneton4sidesofthe2.5cmPVCpipe,2sidesnorthareonthetop,another
2sidesouthareonthetop.(letmagnetattractwitheachother)
5. Tapeanailwithpapertape,putitintoPVCpipeandmakesureitstickwiththepipe.
6. Ononesideofoneof2.5pipes,punchaholeinthemiddleofthepipe.For1.5pipe,
makesanapproximately0.5centimeternooksonbothsideoftherimofthepipe,
oppositetoeachother.
7. Placethepipe,thatattachtothemagnet,downintothenooksthatwemadeinthe
previousstep.
8. Gluetherest0.5pipesontothewoodenboard,oneachsideofthemagnet,besideit.
9. Putcoilonbothsideontopofeach0.5pipes.
10. Ignitethehookofcopperwire,connectthehookofthecopperwirewithanLED.
11. Spinthenailandobservetheresult.

conductormovesintothemagneticfield,EMFwillinduceacrosstotheconductor.
Ifitistooclose,thepathwillprovidetotheconductorandtheEMFwillflowinto
theconductor.Whenturningthecoilinthemagneticfield,bothsidesofthecoil
willgetmotionalemfsthatthefieldhasproduced.Youcanseethattherotationof
thecoilcontinuouslychangesthemagneticfluxinthemagneticfieldthroughthe
coilandgeneratethevoltage.
