Re: The Elevator Situation
Hi Brian:
I reflected on your question from a couple weeks back: how are things going with the condo?
We're at the point now where it's important to put my concerns in writing.
The elevator situation is an issue. I'm on the 19th floor, as you know. Here is what I've seen and experienced over
the last 2+ weeks:

water pouring into the elevator shafts disabling all three elevators for days (I had to walk 19 stories every
time I wanted to leave or return to my unit);
for a combined period of over a week only one elevator was working, servicing 40 storeys and respective
units;
waiting time for an elevator can be as long as 20+ minutes (I usually leave before that so I'm sure wait
times can actually run longer);
line-ups - at times - run the length of the lobby and into the street; and,
questionable and potentially hazardous, regular, elevator capacity overage due to the amount of
people entering into a single car during a single run.

There are other issues - fire alarms being pulled; screaming women/girls on decks at night; an unfinished deck
(concrete waste/paint, etc.) - but they are secondary in nature. I'll address those with you under separate cover or
conversation.
The elevator situation is now entering into the "medium term" - this is no longer a "short-term" situation. If or
when it enters into the "long term" - defined as another week or two - we will have to at least begin a discussion
regarding the long-term options and/or viability of our lease agreement.
And in the short-term, I'm considering the legitimacy of a request regarding some level of compensation for this
significant, continued, daily discomfort.
Ms. Lee and Mr. Hanebury have been placed in copy so they are aware of our correspondence.
Please let me know if I should share this correspondence further. On this matter, I'd prefer to keep all of our
correspondence in writing.
In the short-term, I do not believe there are any next steps for you and I unless you advise otherwise.
On other matters I'm happy to pick up the phone or discuss in person.
If you would be so kind please acknowledge receipt of this e-mail.
Thank you Brian,
Martin
