Professional Experience
Practicum Observations: I made the most of
my practicum experience by truly getting
involved within the school. Within the
classroom I was able to reflect upon the
management and multitude of teaching
strategies. By consistently communicating with
administration, I was able to explore the
process of running a school. Lastly, by
including myself in the counseling process, I
got a deeper understanding of what to do
when dealing with victims of abuse, as well as
creating a behavior plan and coordinating with
other staff.
During my college career, I was responsible for
teaching a portion of my classes. Professors at
my university would use the jigsaw strategy to
assign material. We would then be responsible
for teaching the class our assigned topics. This
would include the essential question, an
activating strategy, teaching, summarizing,
assessments and a mock IEP.

Profile
Hello, my name is Ashley Slaughter; I am a caring,
organized and dedicated young woman with a
passion for teaching. What makes me unique is my
technological skills, Exceptional Student Education
(ESE) Certification and my background knowledge
on CHAMPs classroom management. From the
implementation of technology in my higher
education, I have both the educational background
and experience to effectively use technology in the
learning environment. I have completed multiple
ESE courses, as well as passed the Florida Teaching
Certification Exam in ESE. I have experience
working with ESE students from a previous
Teaching Assistant job at Tender Loving Kare
Daycare. I am familiar with the classroom
management program CHAMPS and will
incorporate its techniques into my classroom. I am
not only going to teach the students of your
school, I am going to inspire them to reach beyond
their own expectations.
