117.60. Music, Level I.

(2) Creative expression/performance. The student sings or

plays an instrument, individually and in groups, performing
a varied repertoire of music. The student is expected to:
(A) demonstrate independently and in ensembles
accurate intonation and rhythm, fundamental skills,
and basic performance techniques while performing
moderately easy to moderately difficult literature;
(B) perform expressively, from memory and
notation, a varied repertoire of music representing
styles from diverse cultures; and
(C) exhibit and explain appropriate small- and
large-ensemble performance techniques for formal
and informal concerts.
As seen in this excerpt taken from the high school portion of
the TEKS, I will collaborate and work these students individually
on certain repertoire in order to have them be proficient in this
specific area of this particular TEKS objective. I will involve piano
in their private lessons in order for the students to be able to be
proactive and use this tool in music education to further equip
them to perform at my standards as well as the state standards. Not
only will they be able to perform alone but as an ensemble and
from this they will grow as a musician. From this and experience
amongst preforming in choir concerts, they will therefore show me
as an authentic assessment what product they have created based
on the assertiveness they represent on stage.
