(a) Draw ideal current waveform for motoring and generating of SRM.
(b) Draw the torque-speed characteristics of SRM.
(c) Write the torque equation of switched reluctance motor.
(d) Write three important features of stepper motor.
(e) Write one difference between SRM and stepper motor.
(f) Draw the winding current waveform in SRM during the change of inductance, when controlled by current control method.
(g) Draw the inductance variation as a function of rotor position for aligned and unaligned position.
Question No. 2:
(a) A stepper motor is operating at a pulse rate of 5000 pulse/sec. It travels 100 deg. in 0.02 sec. Find its resolution.
(b) For a three phase variable reluctance stepper motor, write logic sequence for 2 phase, ON mode
Question No. 3:
(a) Fig. 1 shows the 2-phase stepper motor (unipolar). Write switch/pulse sequence to obtain one revolution for full and half step rotation.

(b) Permanent magnet servomotor has the specifications as: KT = 3.4 in.oz/A (0.024 N-m/A); KE =2.5 V/krpm (0.024 V. s / rad)
Ra = 12.4 ohm; Jm =2.5 10-4 in. oz_ s2 /rad (1.8 10-6 N-m s2 / rad); Bm = 0.015 in. oz/krpm (1.01 10-6 Nm s / rad);

Determine C1, C2, A, B constants. Also determine the transfer function of servomotor.
