Reflection
(Minimum of 3-4 sentences per question)

1. Briefly describe the field experience. What did you learn about technology coaching and technology leadership from completing this field
experience?
The two parts to the action plan helped me see the overall picture as a Data Coach. The documents helped me see the long-term vision for the Data Team and
how the actions of the team will progress over time. I especially learned from the Action Plan Part II. Part II allowed me to take the resources that were
available to me in the CD-Rom of the Data Coachs Guide and outline a plan to use them over the course of the year. The resources available in the CD-Rom
will make the implementation of the Using Data Process much more possible and more effective with quality materials. This field experience helped me by
allowing me to set into motion a process that change the way that student data is collected and analyzed. The process will also help other teachers by
teaching them how to drill down the data in an effective way.
2. How did this learning relate to the knowledge (what must you know), skills (what must you be able to do) and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs,
enthusiasm) required of a technology facilitator or technology leader? (Refer to the standards you selected above. Use the language of the PSC
standards in your answer and reflect on all 3knowledge, skills, and dispositions.)
Knowledge This field experience helped provide me with the knowledge of how to create a schedule of events so that a goal can be accomplished by the
end of the year. So many time, I see initiatives dropped by the third week of school, never to be addressed again. By using the processes described in the
text, and assigning specific dates to accomplish tasks and used provided handouts, I was able to practice how me make an initiative effective, possible, and
sustainable.
Skills This field experience gave me the skills that I need to sustain a positive initiative in a school. I also was given the tools and skills that I need to
introduce, facilitate and model the UDP model that was taught to me in ITEC7305. I now how the skills to Build, Identify, Verify, Generate, and Implement,
Monitor, and Achieve per the UDP.

Dispositions As an educator, I must believe that intervention can make a change in students achievement. This field experience has helped me observe the
difference that data driven change can make. I acknowledge and believe in the value of drilling down data in order to find learning problems that can be
addressed by intervention. I believe that with continual monitoring, these changes can be sustainable and effective in improving student achievement.
3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or student learning at your school. How can the impact be
assessed?
School improvement was impacted by this field experience by allowing me to set up a tentative schedule for the implementation of the UDP process in my
school. I have the tools, knowledge, and resources to teach my fellow faculty how to use the UDP process, collect data, analyze data, and being data-driven
initiates that will positively impact student achievement. I will meet with the principal and grade chairs to decide on a final Data Team that will work closely
with me and disseminate information throughout the faculty. During the monthly faculty meetings, impact reports will be given so that the faculty can be
kept up to date on what the data team has done and where we are going.
