without which we cannot transfer software files or baselines from our laptop to equipments like MINILINK TN, Node- B, or Ceragon Tx Equipments etc. Sometimes ( unluckily at some outage times), we are not able to start FTP server and we get a following message : Port 21 already in use. This ppt shows exactly which particular application is using the FTP port and how to terminate that program, thus making port 21 free.
As you can see in this screenshot we
are not able to put FTP server online.
Go to Start> Run> cmd
Type the following command in cmd:- netstat p tcp -ano
In the output of the command we need
to look for two parameters: 1. Port no: 21 2. Corresponding PID (Process Identifier)
Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to run Task
Manager
Enable PID function by navigating
through VIEW> Select Columns
Check PID Column
Search for the PID obtained in CMD which was 736
in this case. Select the process and press END PROCESS.
