Big Ideas:

*What does Parts of Speech means? Identify what a noun, verb, article, adverb, adjective, and preposition is.
*What are the parts of a sentence? Identify why are the primary parts of speech that a sentence has to have to be a complete
sentence.
*What is the difference between English and Spanish? In this two languages the order of the parts of speech are structured
differently.
Unit Goals and Objectives:
By the end of this unit, the students will know by heart the parts of speech and how to make high level sentences in a text
structure. They will comprehend the linguistic differences between the English and Spanish. Also, the students will be able to
identify the parts of speech in paragraph, short story, poem, or any written paper.

Unit Summary:
Welcome to our Digital Unit, where we will learn to identify the parts of speech. In grammar the hardest thing to learn are the
parts of speech, especially if the student is a Spanish (or any other language)In grammar the hardest thing to learn are the parts

the parts of a sentence and be able to identify them. We will learn how the parts of speech work in both languages English and
Spanish, so be prepared to have fun and learn tons of information by the end of this unit.

In this Unit Plan the introductory


assessment is going to be a brainstorm.
In this activity, the students will get into
small groups and discuss of what they
know about the parts of speech. After
they are done, the entire class is going to
discuss of what they found. This will help
the teacher to see where she has to start
lecturing, depending of what the
students know.

The formative assessments are going


to be given to the students throughout
the entire Unit Plan. This will help the
teacher to know if the students are
understanding the concept of the lesson.

In this unit there are going to be two


summative assessments, a final exam
and the digital summative assessment.
These two are going to let the teacher
know what the students were able to
learn during the entire Unit Plan.

In this Unit Plan the introductory assessment is going to

going to discuss of what they found. This will help the

"playing Lotera." This game is like a bingo game, but in
this case the students are going to have a board where
they will have to write down the corresponding answer.

are going to write down what parts of speech it is. This
way the teacher will know exactly what student is getting
behind the lecture.

Mid-lesson: the students are going to have sentences with


assign parts of speech where they have to identify.
The quiz-let is going to be based in the definitions and
examples of the parts
of speech. The students are going to have to go to this site
and take the quiz; it will help them to learn the definitions.
