WASTAGE MANAGEMENT COURSE

About The Course
Arising technology life, and high rates of resource consumption patterns have had a
unintended and negative impact on the environment .generation of wastes far beyond
the handling capacities of governments and agencies. Cities are now grappling with the
problems of high volumes of waste, the costs involved, the disposal technologies and
methodologies, and the impact of wastes on the local and global environment.
So we provide public awareness course. In this case we select waste management
course for people who didnt have idea about it. Using this course people will get a
knowledge about how to make their environment clean, health and reduce the
wastages.

Goals and objective

Goal
Aware the society about the wastage thing and give them a knowledge to reuse and
reproduce from the wastage things. By using 3R methods (Reduce, Reuse, And Recycle)

Objectives
1. Learners need to register in order to take the courses and can choose between
studying online, downloading the course materials on their computers
2. Courses consist of interactive lessons including text, image, animations and
interactions.
3. Different instructional techniques will be use e.g.:- Presentation slides, videos.
4. Additional resources will be include like links to online resources, recommended
readings and a glossary.
5. Learners can use sessions e.g.:- discussions and share their comments or
reflections.

To protect the environment
Get to know about 3 dustbin system
Introducing proper methods for disposing their household wastages.
Make vigilant about importance of proper waste management.
Introducing 3R concept from householders.
To provide for adequate facilities and knowledge peoples to get monetary
benefits by effectively use of waste.
8. Let people to know about waste management to efficiently manage all waste
generated in County from the point of generation through ultimate disposal.
9. Minimize residual wastages.

1.2 Audience Analysis and Analysis the Data Gathered

When we analysis data we used questioner method to get information from
learners and subject matter experts. The following form we created to gathered
data.

After we gather data the analysis result show us

Most of the people did not use 3 dustbin system in their home because they didnt
have any idea about it.
No knowledge about 3R system
They are very excited to learn wastage management course.

3. Task Analysis
3.1
3.1.1

Task Analysis in Instructional Design

Items to Capture

Condition: here we have to identify the task environment. The actors and its
performance. How they effect to the performance of the task, and we have to clearly
identify their environment.
Performance measure: here the task is how must it important to happen, its
important. Our main goal for this course is make the environment better the
people.so that the public want to follow this course.
Frequency: how often this task is perform. How much it important.
Difficulty: so the difficulties of the task we have to use scale. We have to order it.
Which is want to come first, second like wise. Eg; first student want to register and
login to the course.

3.1.2

Lerners task

We are going to make aware of public how to handle the wastages and make their
environment cleanly. So that this course will help to do this.in task analysis what are
the steps we are going to build in our system.
In here we have to identify the actors in our course and what are the task in this
course. In here general public (student) are going to follow this course. They are the
actors in our system. Then their task is leaning the metrical available in the course
for that we have to identify the user environment. And the course administer is
another actor in our system. Their task is handle the course and maintain it.
Mostly our learners are who are using the internet because this an online course and
this mostly suitable for who are living in the town areas .those who are facing
problem with wastages, these people are our learners.

3.1.3

Lerners background

When we take the learners background, normally our learners are normal public
users. So they dont need that much of knowledge to follow this course. They only
want know how to use the computers and internet. They need internet connection
to follow this course.
This is an online course so that they can learn through their mobile phone .there is
only need a smart phone and they want to know how to use it also.

3.1.4

Train the learners

Then they can follow this course. This is the main task in this course. So that firstly
we want to train the user to how to follow this course. When learners following time
we have to train them how use this course their real day to day life.
In our content or in syllabus we use three main thing. They are reuse, reduce, and
recycle .so that we have to train the learners to how to use 3 dustbin methods in
their home.so that we have to train them.

4. Context Analysis
4.1 Data Analysis
According to our waste management content we have to consider about technical or
context analysis. Our waste management content will be available for users who are
going to be interacted with our content over the internet.

The content will be carried on highly used technical services such as graphics, images,
videos, audios, and also we have planned to develop our content is for better Graphical
user Interface which will be very user friendly for end-users. We have to more consider
about GUI the only thing is people who interact with our content will be expecting
before they visit, basically we are going to develop our contents for all users who need
to know about waste management.

Considering about technical analysis typically in the content point of view it will be
required some needed technical requirements, if the users have those requirements
that will be very useful for them, which means image if the users have the minimum
150MB VGA which is very useful for animation and graphics it is adequate.

4.2 Technical Requirements

We will see what kind of fundamental requirements for technical analysis according our
contents such as

The speed and processor type 2 GHz

Basic needed memory or RAM available 300 megabytes.
Our content will be available for users via the online
Audio capability will be used via movie maker
Video clips will be added for users minimum 120MB VGA needed.
The screen resolution available (1024 x 768) (according to SriLanka standard)
Screen resolution auto generated for mobile users.
14

Video format is MP4, if the users needed some videos they can download by
using IDM(internet download manager), and If they are Firefox users they can
download them by using Add on extensions. Our videos will be available on
YouTube.
Internet requirements 6mbps basically needed to see our content if it is graphical
processing activities and video processing users need more than 6mbps
connection. 21mbps quit ok for video processors.
Browsers latest version acceptable for the browser compatibility. If it is Firefox
users they may use extension as well chrome users, our contents also available in
Ms Explorer, explorer latest version is acceptable for the user-friendly.
Consider about the Operating Systems Microsoft products such as Windows7,
W8, W8.1, our contents are available also in other operating systems such as
Linux, Mac.
If it is Firefox users on windows7 they may have need to install plug-ins for video
extensions which are provided by Firefox, No need to plug-in on chrome in latest
version to see videos.
When we consider about the contents pages we are going to use latest
technologies such as Ajax technologies, HTML5, CSS3, and Twitter Bootstrap.
Therefore our users can have high quality product from us.
Once we host our contents on the server (can be outsource or in-house server),
in future we are going to give updatable version according to new technologies In
future we may change our frames or templates.

15

5. Content Analysis
5.1 Purpose
Content analysis help us to enables classify content into different categories
(declarative, procedural or situated) and types of content (fact, concept, process,
procedure and principle.) It also allows us to know and understand the structure of the
information, as well as the relationships between them. This will allow us to identify:
1.
2.
3.
4.

How significant each piece of content is?

What category of content is prevailing (declarative, procedural or situated?
What information gaps exist?
If information should be rearranged?

This way, content analysis will make it possible to establish a clear and comprehensible
structure of the contents sequence, allowing us to define the objectives, and if
necessary, a glimpse of the teaching-learning strategies that we can use.

Content Analysis enables us to classify content into different categories. They are: Fact,
Concept, Process, Procedure and Principle There are three things that should be
consider when analyzing a content in an e-learning course material.

1.

Identifying course content based on learners needs

2.

Defining learning objectives.

3.

Defining the course structure.

According the above concepts we are designing a course to give the awareness to the
society about the waste things that they have use day to day in their life, somehow they
dont know yet how they want to manage them. So it is a course module to give the
knowledge about that.

16

5.2 Modules
We make our course into smaller parts make it easier to the learners. We divide into 3
module.
Such as:
1. Recycle
2. Reuse
3. Reduce
These are the main modules in our system. This make it easier to learners who follow
our course. Within this bog module we make small heading also.

5.3 Learning Domains of Blooms Taxonomy

In here we consider the learners mental ability and their skill, their learning preference.
And there 3 main things have to consider.
Such as:
Cognitive Domain:
in here we have to consider the learners inner mental activities to understanding how
our learners learn. we can identify this our public behavior. Are they trying to clean the
environment and we have to train them.

Affective Domain:
We have to consider the learners emotion and feelings. Are they happy with this course,
are they like this and are they like our teaching methods etc. mostly we have to identify
environment loving persons and make them satisfy with our course to clean the
environment.
Psychomotor Domain:
Here we have to train the learners to use the 3 dustbin methods, how to reuse the
wastages such like.
