The motto of the orchestra is "Equal in Music".

With our demands, we go beyond that motto and advocate equal rights for all humans!
For ten years the Palestinian civil society calls on every righteous human being to
boykott, desinvest and sanction Israel until it

ends its occupation and colonization of all Arab lands and dismantles the Wall
recognizes the fundamental rights of the Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel to full
equality; and
3. respects, protects and promotes the rights of Palestinian refugees to return to
their homes and properties.

As role model for the present BDS campaign serves the boycott-movement, that brought
about the downfall of South Africas Apartheid system in 1994. Hence

By the way, Daniel Barenboim, as many other celebrities, is convinced that BDS is
perfectly right and necessary. He criticizes that the BDS campaign would outlaw
anything Israeli. We are happy to refute these considerations. Since BDS is directed at
international and Israeli companies, institutions and individuals that profit from or
whitewash the Israeli politics of colonialism, apartheid and occupation.
Companies to be named in this context are: HeidelbergCement, Hewlett-Packard (HP),
SodaStream (Sparkling Water Makers) and various exporters of fruits and vegetables.
The Palestinian BDS campaign explicitly invites Israeli citizens to take part and they do.
