POETRY ANTHOLOGY

You must:
1. have AT LEAST 12 poems included (more is okay)
2. have a title on each one (Untitled is not a title)
3. must include one poem of each of the formats we reviewed (acrostic, concrete/shape,
diamante, free verse, found poem, haiku, limerick, cinquain) Weve already done at
least one of each of these, so that is already finished!
4. must include examples from each of the IMASHROPE figures of speech. They can all
be mashed into one poem! But you should probably spread them throughout. Of
course, you should be using more than just these 9, but please list one example of each
to show your understanding.
5. write a personal reflection for any 2 of your poems (what was your inspiration, why
did you write this, why is it important for you, etc) Include these at the back of
your anthology.
You may:
1. add clip-art, pictures, decoration, etc.
2. break your anthology into themes (sports poems, personal poems, being a teenager
poems, etc.)

The finished product for each poem should look like this:
TITLE in quotation marks
Those Anthropologists (free verse poem)poem type
Those anthropologists
sociologists and
historians who
poke at our bones,
our social systems
and past events
try to tell us
who we are.
When we dont read
their book
they think we are
rejecting our heritage.
So, they feel
sorry for us
and write
more books
for themselves.
