Sculptor Jim Killys Solo Exhibition Slated for
Brazee Street Studios gallery One One Cincinnati, OH gallery One One at Brazee Street School of Glass continues its 2013-14 exhibition season with the opening of mostly wood on August 23rd. The solo exhibition will feature artwork by longtime local sculptor Jim Killy. Running August 23 October 3, 2013, the exhibition will feature new sculptural and installation work in "mostly wood". Killy's work combines a range of sculptural languages including the manipulation of wood, integration of found objects, stone, and welded steel. It gives me great pleasure to be able to exhibit this body of work, said Killy. I have been working for over a year to make concepts become reality. Though the pieces on exhibit may lack continuity to some, my objective was to create pieces that have been on my mind or in some sketchbooks for some time. The connection then is that they were almost never made. Part of my work continues to focus on the manipulation of wood, bronze, stone and fabricated/welded steel as well as the element of motion and human interaction. Brazee Street Studios has provided me with an opportunity to execute my Sculpture bucket list. It has proven to be a joyous experience. An opening gallery reception for mostly wood will take place on Friday, August 23 from 68pm. A second gallery reception will take place during Oakley After hours on Friday, September 13 from 6-9pm. Both receptions are open to the public and there is no cost to attend.
