On 07-24- 2015, Ranger SWEANEY was requested to make contact with John Kolton SMITH of Waxahachie, Texas regarding this investigation. Ranger SWEANEY was contacted by John's mother Trena SMITH, and was informed that John was working in Europe. Ranger SVEANEY. was unable to make contact with John, Ranger SWEANEY does not retain any evidence that requires final disposition. File closed. DET. 1.1 On Friday, 07-24-2015, Texas Ranger Adam SWEANEY was requested by Texas Ranger Bradley FREEMAN (San Antonio) to assist with an ongoing Tampering with Governmental Record Investigation (Texas Ranger Division File #RF-2015-00179) 1.2. Ranger SWEANEY was provided the following information: A), Ranger FREEMAN was requested to investigate discrepancies related to the witness affirmation report of House Bill 142. B). Representative PICKETT alleged that Representative STRICKLAND may have tampered with the witness affirmation list by adding witness names without their presence in the Capital. C). Trena's phone message informed Ranger SWEANEY that John was working in Europe for an internship position. 1.5 Ranger SWEANEY attempted to make contact with John and Trena multiple times, and left multiple unanswered phone messages.
