ABSTRACT
Tourism industry is one of the worlds fastest growing economic sectors.
There is 23 percent muslims of the total global population so it would makes
sharia tourism can be grown and accepted in the global society. Indonesia
decided 13 provinces to be principal sharia tourism. The purpose of the research
is analyzing the potential and threat for sharia tourism in Central Java and to
describe the concept of MUI (Mouth, Unique Icon, Internet) in promoting of
sharia tourism that synergy with takaful principle. The method was used in this
research is descriptive qualitative analysis by doing of indepth interviews,
observation, documentary, and for the secondary data we use some literature.
Results of the study show that sharia tourism in Central Java are potential.
However, the sharia tourism less in promote and developing a synergy between
hotel, travel agent, spa, and sharia restaurant. Takaful principal that means
helping each other is not applied in relation between stakeholder. Finally, sharia
touris in Central Java needs to reconstruction in promoting and developing the
relation between stakeholders with takaful principal. These are important because
promoting with mouth, unique icon, and internet along with good relation
between the stakeholder can make sharia tourism in Central Java will be grown.
