4. Cocoon : a covering which
caterpillars make around themselves
to protect them while they grow

In the light of the moon a little egg lay on a


leaf.

One Sunday morning the warm sun


came up and pop! Out of the egg
came a tiny and very hungry

He started to look for some food.

Im still hungry!

On Monday he ate through


twenty-one apple.
But he was still hungry.

On Tuesday he ate through


twenty-two pears,
but he was still hungry.

On Wednesday he ate through


twenty-three bananas, but he was

The next day was Sunday again.


The caterpillar ate through one
nice green leaf, and after that he

Now he was not hungry anymore.


He was not a little caterpillar any
more.

He was a big, fat caterpillar.

He built a small house, called a


cocoon, around himself. He stayed
inside for more than two weeks.

Then he make a hole in the cocoon,


pushed his way out

He was a beautiful butterfly!

Paper Plate Caterpillar

Step 1 : Leader

Paste the eyes on the red paper


plate.

Step 2 : Leader

Draw the caterpillars mouth using


magic pen/marker pen.

Step 3 : Leader

Stick the antenna at the back of the


red paper plate.

Step 4 : Material Manager

Write the number of the food that


The Very Hungry Caterpillar has
eaten. Paste it.

Step 5 : Material Manager

Paste the picture on the paper


plate.

Step 6 : Material Manager, Time


Keeper, Presenter

Repeat step 4 and 5 using different


numbers.

Step 7 : All group members

Tie the paper plates using ribbon


provided.
