Biennial. Native to Europe, North Africa, Asia Minor, Armenia and Siberia. Flowers
from June to August, purple-magenta on a wooly-white plant. In homeopathy, the
dilute extract of the seed is used for treating paralysis. Cultivation: Easy. Start in
flats or direct seed in garden midspring. Germinates in 10 days. Thin plants to 6
inches apart. Grows 3 to 4 feet tall.
