RE: KATHRYN McINTYRE

Miss Kathryn (Kat) McIntyre has been a final year practicum student at
Tharawal Primary School for the duration of Term 3 2015.
During that time Miss McIntyre has performed all classroom teacher duties
to an outstanding level as a student teacher. Miss McIntyre has further
developed her understanding of curriculum implementation through
planning teaching and learning activities catering for different ability
levels and learning styles in the classroom. This knowledge and
understanding has been enhanced by her attendance at training and
development sessions on new syllabus documentation prior to
implementation and ongoing participation in sessions at the review and
refine sections of the implementation cycle of other syllabus currently
implemented.
Miss McIntyre has shown a keen sense of understanding of her role as a
teacher by backing explanations and shared information with current and
relevant research. She has shown abilities in active and effective listening
and then responding in a meaningful and purposeful way in professional
discussions with staff members.
Miss McIntyre has shown her classroom organisational skills. The
classroom in which she taught was presented in a way to highlight student
achievement in a number of learning areas. She was organised, practical
and sensitive to student needs in the classroom.
During conversations with Miss McIntyre I could see a developing
understanding of student learning in relation to assessment and feedback.
Miss McIntyre was a keen learner in this area and sought information to
create meaningful activities to gauge student understanding in different
areas of the curriculum.

As a member of the staff team at Tharawal Primary School, Miss McIntyre

fit in extremely well. Permanent members of staff commented to me on a
number of occasions on Miss McIntyres commitment, knowledge of the
profession and in different subject areas, her general demeanour and the
professional way in which she conducted herself whilst at the school.
There was not a task too hard to tackle for her, nor a task that was not
done to the best of her excellent ability.
On a personal professional note as principal of the school, should I have
reason to employ Miss McIntyre in the future, I would not hesitate. I have
asked Miss McIntyre to visit me again with her casual teaching number as
soon as she has it so I may offer her casual employment as soon as it is
available.
I have every reason to commend Miss Kathryn McIntyre to a future
employer.
Yours sincerely

Sue Roach
