Dear Parent/Guardian
This letter is to inform you that your child has been asked to participate in an
upcoming camp run by PCYC and The University of Tasmania (UTas). Following is
some information to help you get ready for the camp.
Where is the location of the camp?
The camp will be held at Bakers Point in the Narawntapu National Park.
Narawntapu National Park is on the north coast opposite Port Sorell.
Why are we going? What will we be doing?
The camp will provide participants with a unique experience to develop various
life skills. Participants will need to work as a team to address the various
challenges the camp brings.
Day 1 will be based around the campsite including low risk adventure activities,
camp setup and cooking skills. Day 2 involves a day walk to Copper cove and
skill building activities to prepare students for the final days challenge. Students
will also prepare the evening meal. Day 3 will consist of participants taking part
in a grand challenge where skills developed during the camp will be used to
complete an adventure group activity.
When is the Camp?
Date: Wednesday 8th Friday 10th of October.
Time of departure from PCYC on Wednesday 8th: 9am
Expected return time to PCYC on Friday 10th: 3:30pm
How will we get there?
Transport will be provided to and from the camp by bus from the PCYC. 146
Abbott St, Newstead. We will be traveling along the West Tamar Highway to
Exeter. Turning onto Frankford Road and following this until we turn off onto
Baker Beach Road.

Cost?
There will be no out of pocket expenses involved with the camp.
Other information:
Please find the gear and equipment list attached to this letter. We recommend
packing for the unpredictable Tasmanian weather!
A consent and medical for is also attached. Please fill in and return to Ross
McIvor as soon as possible.
