One page summary

Careers and career choice is learning outcome number four

in Life Orientation. It is about how one should go about
choosing a career of his/ her choice. Choosing a career is an
involved process that is based on a number of things including
your interests, skills, work related values and personality

SKILLS

Learners are going to research about their careers at different

places like using Internet, Libraries, Career centres, Institutions
of higher learning and or ask their guidance teachers. After that
they will identify the person who is doing the career of their
choice to interview. They create a questionnaire of about 10
questions for an interview. They conduct interviews and after
that they write a report on their findings.

KNOWLEDGE
Learners will know their personalities before making their own
choices by being aware of their abilities, interests, skills,
values, attitudes, strengths and weaknesses. They will know
whom they are and make good decisions about their careers.

VALUES

After this research learners will change their attitudes by

valuing and respecting the diversity of people. This means that
people differ in personalities and everybody is unique.
Therefore before we choose careers we should know our
personalities.
