Albert Bandura

Albert Bandura is well regarded for his Social Cognitive Theory. It is a learning theory
based on the ideas that people learn by watching what others do, and that human
thought processes are central to understanding personality
This theory can be related to our patient since she is 13 years of age; and that means
she is in the adolescent stage. At this stage, the person is in the process of forming her
identity. According to Lancaster (2013), in order for an individual to be unique, she must
first be able to imitate others and then innovate on what she has imitated. With our
patient, she then imitates the behaviors, principles, values, beliefs and actions to those
around her; and then capitalizes on those imitated attributes in an effort to make a
unique version of herself.
