No | 19000 —— Materials (Summary) Page [se ort9 6.0 DATA SHEETS — Introduction to Solutia PSS AND SPS This section provides a short introduction or highlights to the piping class data sheets corresponding to Company's PSS and SPS in the different sections of APPENDICES-1 and 2. + PIPING SYSTEM SPECIFICATION (PSS) The Company defines the PSS as ‘a series of code letters and numbers that define all components of a particular piping system. Each piping class code consists of three alpha- numeric groups (e.g. AB-CD-E), the meaning of the symbols being:- First set (AB) - Defines the type of pipe and pipe fittings. Second set (CD) _ - Defines the types of piping joints to be used (flanges and gaskets). Third set (E) - Defines the types of valves to be used, + SPECIAL PIPING SPECIFICATION (SPS) These serve a similar purpose to PSSs except that they are used for specific fluid services on specific project.
