    EIGHTH CONVOCATION
    PRESS RELEASE
    The Eighth Convocation of the Tamil Nadu Physical Education and
    Sports University was held on 18th February 2015 (Wednesday) at
    Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan, Chennai at 11.30 am. His Excellency
    Dr.K.Rosaiah, Governor of Tamil Nadu and Chancellor of the University
    awarded the Degrees to the candidates. Prof.K.Aludaiyapillai, IAS
    (Retd.), former Vice-Chancellor, Madurai Kamaraj University was the
    Chief Guest and delivered the Convocation Address.

    Dr.

    (Mrs) Grace Helina, Vice-Chancellor (Officiating) of the University


    welcomed the gathering and presented the Annual Report.
    In this Convocation, a total of 3083 Degrees were awarded to the
    Candidates. One hundred and forty six (146) candidates received their
    Degrees in person. Two thousand nine hundred and thirty seven (2937)
    candidates received their Degrees in-absentia. Thirty Nine (39)
    Scholars received their Ph.D degrees in this Convocation apart from the
    rank holders of different courses offered by this University. Out of the
    total Degree awardees, 1918 candidates were male and 1165
    candidates were female.
