Family Context: The childs name is Zara and she is 3 years old now. She is from Pakistan but
she speaks English, as well as, Hindi at home. Zara has father, mother and older sister, Zarais.
Her parents are students in Ulitmo Tafe.
Friendship: Zaras social skills are very good. She is able to socialise with all the ages and
genders. She also always plays everyone and likes to play with everyone.
Interests: Zara has interest to do painting and drawing with different coloured pencils and texts.
She has also interest to cut paper with scissors. Her interests include anything revolving around
art and craft. She likes playing in the sandpit and getting massy.
Strengths: Zaras most noticeable strengths include her imaginations and social skills. Her
language skill is also developed. She can speak two languages and does not have any problems
with communicating with others. Sometimes, Zard talks to herself as well in her home-language.
She can follow/ copy what other children do.
Critical Points of New Learning: Zara is learning self-help skills more such as feeding food by
herself and putting own dress on. She is also developing her language skills more as well
correct full sentences.
Future Planning: Self help skills are encourages. Lots of group activites can be provided to help
Zara to develop her social skills with big groups and her confidence at speacking out own ideas,
thought and feelings to the group. Show and tell would be another good strategy to develop her
language skills, especially for using full sentences. Zaras interests and strengths also need to be
developed and supported continuously, for example, by setting up various Art and Craft activities.
Early Childhood Context: Zara attend the centre three days in a week; on Monday, Tuesday and
Friday. She is quite good at settling in. Most of times she is happy and does lots of drawing and
playing in sandpit.
