Whiteboard Dry Erase Marker Paint Dabber Ten Frame Poster Plastic Links Weather Chart Number Chart Name Sticks Shape Signs (Q1: Triangle, Circle, Rectangle, Square) Getting Ready The morning message will already be written on the whiteboard with several blanks for the helper and the students Students will come down to the to help fill out. I will call students carpet and sit quietly with their to the carpet and get them legs crossed. ready for calendar time. I will select a name from the name sticks cup.

Im going to pick my helpers
name from the cup. I hope my helper is ready, sitting crisscross applesauce, with their ears open and their mouth closed. Lets see who it will be today Its ___________! Come on up. Task & Discourse (intertwined) I will have the helper write their first name down on the blank space in the morning message. We will read the message as a class, filling in the blanks as we go along.

Sing the weather song as we move to the weather chart. (Helper), whats the weather like outside? Can you put a link on the chain under the weather picture that matches our weather today? Class, which type of weather have we had the most of? Which type havent we had yet? Are there any days that have occurred the same amount of times? Move to the ten frame poster. (Helper), will you pick a paint dabber and put a dot on our ten frame, please? Thank you. Will you help us count by pointing to the dots? Lets say them together. Move to number chart. Yesterday we were at day (thirteen) of school. Lets count together to see where we are at now. (Turn card once counting gets to the next number.) We were correct! You know your numbers. Does the number of days match the number of dots in the ten frame? Yes it does! We must be counting with precision. Move to shape signs. Class, Im going to mix these up and Ill hold up one at a time and you tell me which one it is. (Hand them to helper once all four shapes have been named.)
