Learning Targets for the Five Most Spoken Languages in the World

(Objetivos de aprendizaje para los cinco idiomas mas hablada en el mundo)

By Winter Break:
1. I can recall from memory the names of the five most spoken
languages in the world, in Spanish.
(I am not expected to be fluent in all those languages. I only need to
know five words for this unit. Those five words are the names of
those languages in Spanish: chino, espaol, ingls, hindi, rabe.)
2. I can recall with some familiarity the order in which of those
languages are spoken by the most people, first, second, third,
fourth, and fifth.
3. I can understand that other languages are not just spoken in a
classroom but are spoken throughout the world.
* National Standard for Learning World Languages: 4.1, Comparisons:
Students demonstrate understanding of the nature of language through
comparisons of the language studied and their own.
