I did an exercise today that involved hot desking. Where a group of media students all looked
at each others work and analysed it. This was from questions I came up with myself to find
strengths and what I can improve on. However this was tricky because I have only started my
front cover. This means I will re-do this when I have finished my magazine for an overall
review.
I have found the strengths to my magazine so far. Furthermore my genre is clear because of
the colours associate reggae. The technical codes of the dreadlocks. My main image is effective
with the lighting I used, and my model with dreadlocks. Also my masthead is bold and easy to
read from a distance. I found out that the connotation to the colours I have used; represents
youth, fun, reggae, Jamaica and happiness. This is good for my target audience.
However there are areas of improvement. If I blurred my background more to make the
image stand out better. Also that it would get my readers attention better if I used direct
address. Due to this my image for my DPS with have direct address and I will edit my main
image more.
