The students at Pueblo are aware of my strong expectations on attendance, homework, and assessment, and I assure you that I can bring that expertise to Alta Dena Middle School in the fall semester. Please feel free to email me at kmabrah1@asu.edu or call me at 480-000-0000 to hear more about my qualifications, and I look forward to scheduling an interview with you in the near future. Introduction Letter to a Parent:
Good Morning Mr. & Mrs. Hook, Welcome back to school! My name is Kadalena Abraham and I am the 8th Grade Social Studies Instructor for your student, Wendy. This is my first year teaching, however I have been in the classroom student teaching and interning for the past three years. My expertise is the American Government as well as early American History. In terms of expectations, my goals are specific, however they are attainable to all students academic learning levels. Absences/Tardy: Absences and Tardys will be a deduction, if they only become an issue. Tardiness after 3 times (warnings) will be equal to a detention at lunch or after school. Projects and Assessments: Will consist of 80% of the final grade. Participation/Homework: Participation and Projects will consist of 20% of the final grade. This information will be emphasized in the Syllabus as well that the students will be going home with. Along with homework and assessments, the students will use hands on technology, DBQs (Document based question), group work, and individual assignments. I look forward to a great year with my new Panthers. Please feel free to look over the syllabus and email me if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. Regards, K. Letter to Parent(s) addressing specific issue:
Good Afternoon Mr. & Mrs. Hook, My name is Miss Abraham and I am the 8th Grade History teacher at Neverland Junior High school, as well as Wendys instructor for her 6th period class. Wendy is a pleasant student to have in class, she always brings strong ideas to the table, and she is enthusiastic about her work. I wanted to address an issue that happened during class today, as Wendy created quite a disruption during the class period. Today in the middle of class, Wendy began to shout (during silent reading time,) I do believe in fairies, I DO I DO!!! She continued to make this statement louder until other classmates began to join her. I politely asked her to refrain from using an outside voice, but she did not budge. I finally took Wendy into the hallway and wrote her a detention write up for disruption. Wendy agreed, knew her consequences; as they are posted in the classroom daily, and went back to her seat and continued to read while quietly whispering to herself, no Tinkerbell, I cant. Tink, stop. I asked Wendy to move to the corner desk so she would not disrupt the students around her. By the time this occurred, the bell rang, and Wendy packed up her items to leave to 7th period. Wendy will serve detention at lunch tomorrow for this behavior, as that is the first offence when disruptive behavior occurs. Although this is a first time occurrence in my classroom, I wanted to firmly address it to you, Mr. Hook, so that this incident would not occur again. Again, Wendy is an intelligent students, and I know that her behavior will not affect her academics during future silent reads. Please let me know if you have any questions about this situation, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Best Regards,
