Make art & culture

Students will utilize their previous sessions work of their

model magic sculpture and create their characters trading
cards. At the beginning of class, the students will rainstorms
what elements they want their Pokmon to possess. After
reflecting their characters qualities they will put together a
trading card that they themselves can use over and over.
Their trading cards will consist of an image of their own
personal Pokmon character, which will be placed in the
middle of the card and at the bottom and top will be the
students own description of their character (the name of the
character, lifespan, power, and whatever else the students
would like to add.) After the brainstorming of creating their
Pokmon, students will use the cut out cards to create
patterns and shapes to create their Pokmon character.

Differentiation

Students will be helped out with any issues they might have.
We can have students sketch out their character and point
out what is unique about their piece before making their
trading card. This will be perfect for students having trouble
finding purpose of their character and even spelling certain
things. Students who come in late will all be put together so
they can help each other out along with one of the student
teachers who will be instructing them about what they need
to do. Students who seem not to be paying attention will be
moved accordingly to get them less distracted and more
focused. The students who arent present during this lesson
will do a quick brainstorm of their Pokmon and still create
their own Pokmon card. We will spend extra time with
these students to facilitate them with the instructions of the
lesson.

Reflection and/or
other forms of
assessment

Reflections will be made throughout the whole process after

the student is given back their character sculpture. The
teachers will float around and ask specific questions to the
students. These include: What attacks will your Pokmon
have? What type of Pokmon is yours? What does your
Pokmon look like on the card? They will think about what
special qualities their character holds and why its
important. They will reflect their own artist styles and why
they make it the way they did. During the end of the class
the students will reflect their thought process and students
will walk around and see everyones work. There will be
