Nature Vs Man made

The emphasis of this assignment is to develop skills with the experimental use
of a range of different recording techniques and the eventual development of
a final piece of artwork inspired by the artists studied.
You have three weeks to carry out the assignment including all visual work and
notes to explain your ideas and prove your knowledge and understanding.

Recording and presenting your investigations and experiments

provides the evidence that is assessed towards your final grade, it is
imperative that you complete all work set to the best of your ability
and make your presentation clear, legible and visually enticing to
show how well you understand the themes, techniques, artists &
photographers and demonstrate the depth of your investigations and
your skills.
Your work will be marked on how well you:

You are to continue your investigations into the theme nature Vs man-made
by developing your initial drawing studies into experimental paintings exploring
the properties of watercolour, acrylic and oil and a variety of techniques
inspired by different painters through history.

WEEK ONE: Watercolour Painting

Demonstrate analytical & critical understanding AO1

Watercolour painting techniques based on your choice of the subjects

covered in part 1 of the project.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:

Work from your drawings and
photographs of the mechanical forms
studied previously. You may want to take
a section or sections of your previous
drawings or photos to create an abstract
composition.
Complete an A3 painting inspired by
the concentric circles used by Delaunay.
Focus on colour blending and the way
that the artist uses abstract colour in her
work
Taking inspiration from any of the
themes studied previously, produce a
painting inspired by Ockwell and
Cheung
Complete a painting which employs
the techniques of wet on wet and blend
colours in a similar way to the artists
above.
