Dear Instructor Benedict,
In this letter I will be reflecting from the four outcomes and provide evidence on how I am able
to understand each one of them. I will also discuss how the outcomes relate to my future
academics and personal life.
Analyze Rhetorical Situation has helped me on all of my major projects including the small
writing assignment. In order to start on one of my projects I had to know the subject, purpose,
and the intended audience. In project 1 the subject was to write a resume and cover letter. For my
cover letter I am was aiming for an internship program call Course Hero. The staff of Course
Hero was my audience. The purpose for these documents was to persuade the audience into
taking into consideration my skills and knowledge for an interview. Project 2 dealt with the same
elements as project 1 but had a different genre. For this project the subject was a proposal, the
audience was small businesses owners, and the purpose was to persuade the audience to join with
Joy Junction into making a second shelter in the downtown area. The last project was the
recommendation report which is similar to the proposal and follows the same genre. The purpose
of this report was persuade UNM and the Accessibility Resource Center into using Universal
Design on their main campus pathways. The PowerPoint slides were helpful in comprehending
how these elements are all needed and how important they are for the audience to understand our
message/purpose. I know that all these project will help with my future classes. One day I want
to own my own business and with these project on hand, I will have the necessary information to
do a letter, report, and proposal.
Find and Evaluate Information has allowed me find relevant sources and information to make my
statements stronger and persuasive. There was plenty of available resources provided to myself
and my peers. For example, websites such as the library, Google Scholars and other resources
that enhance my projects. In my opinion, project 2 and 3 were the most researched based project.
For project 2, I was able to use Joy Junction website and news articles as evidence. In my project
3, I used academics articles and government sources found in Good Scholars and library at UNM
to boost the credibility. This outcome will help me in the future because I will know which
sources should be used and where I should obtain my sources for future classes.
Compose Documents taught me the format for what each project should resemble and what
should be including in each of these documents. All projects included a certain format that
should be followed in order, to be more professional and appropriate for the intended audience.
Project Zero was the sales letter; the format was simple which is introduction, body, and
conclusion. Project 1 cover letter followed the same format as project zero. The second project
was more complex as well as for project 3. Both of these projects including titles, headings,
subheading, bullet points, and some visual image such as a graph. Both these projects had more

steps. For example Project 3 included a front matter, table of contents, abstract, introduction,
methodology, results of the study, discussion of results, and recommendations which includes
the conclusion.
Present Documents provided me on how the final version of the document should look like. This
includes adding multimodal components such as creating a website, graphs, and a presentation
while being readable and professional. The website was something I had never done before. In
my opinion, it is a great tool to present documents. Graphs were simple to create and allowed me
and the audience to understand what the reader was trying to convey. For example in the second
project, adding a cost and benefits chart is more enjoyable and easier to follow than explaining in
a sentence. This also added color and some brightness into the long letters. The Prezi
presentation was completely new to me. I had never used Prezi or recorded a narrated
presentation before. This was a helpful tool; it was quick and easy to the point. This was a short
review on my recommendation report.
Thank you for taking your time in reading my reflective letter!

Best Regards,
Yesenia Mendez
