Syllabus
Work Preparation is designed to support learners to become work ready and develop the skills and capabilities required for successful transition into the workplace
beyond Grade 12. In Work Preparation students complete a range of learning tasks that build evidence towards achievement in the Essential Skills Reading and Writing,
Maths and ICT courses as indicated in the Assessment Criteria. Students will have the opportunity to explore pathways options for the future with the guidance of their
teacher. Work Preparation aims to build students employability skills through collaborative learning tasks, personal reflection and independent work.
Course Delivery is flexible to meet the needs of learners. Ongoing elements of Work Preparation include: communication skills, team work, problem solving, negotiating,
time management and personal reflection.

The focus for Term 2 is working with learners towards developing evidence towards the tick requirements. Small units of learning with supporting
tasks assist the teacher and student work towards the Essential Skills literacy, numeracy and ICT checklists. Mid Year Assessment Week provides further

The focus for Term 3 is developing learning around students future focus goals from mid -year in relation to their progress (and evidence) in Essential
Skills literacy, numeracy and ICT. Students will utilise their personal competencies and employability skills through engaging in a work readiness enterprise
project Make a Buck.
