-Dr. Paul Quick in the Center for Learning and Teaching
-Dr. Pritchett in Educational Psychology
-Dr. Paul Mathews in Service Learning
-Torrance Center faculty with extensive knowledge concerning the IMT
-Instructors of other core education classes (I have met a few in my Course
Design Class)

A. Redesign my EPSY 2130, Exploring Learning and Teaching,

C. Create a professional, online portfolio to present my work (this is
an ongoing goal that I have)

A. Attend professional development lectures related to my interests
a. i.e. I have registered for the Scholarship for Learning and
Teaching Retreat, as well as workshops for Service
Learning Course Design and Promoting Critical

b. I also plan to research professional development
opportunities outside of the University
B. Meet with various professors in the education department in
order to develop a clear understanding of the reflective
component of the Teacher Education Program
a. I have already set up a meeting with a graduate student
who teachers EDUC 2120
C. Continue to investigate the literature on critical reflection

This will really vary. I see my time being split in four:
-Developing my 2130 course
-Attending professional development opportunities concerning my
research interests
-Researching!

D. Developmental Statement
I am hoping this experience will allow me to more fully develop my work on critical
reflection last semester. I feel that I delved deeply into the reflection literature last
semester, and now I want to focus on how to most effectively communicate my findings.
One of the most interesting findings was the importance of teaching students how to
reflect.
Now that I have a grounded understanding in the reflection literature, I am excited to redesign the 2130 course in a manner to promote critical reflection. I see this class as the
ideal (teaching based on theory that promotes reflection). Basically, this internship will
allow me to develop multiple methods of sharing my findings (with my future 2130
students) and engaging in continual research.
