Type of Item Reviewed: As an avid lover of anything edible, I will be

writing a review on very elegant and very classy restaurant, Mannys
Steakhouse.
Readers: My primary reader group is going to be adults, aged 35-55
who live within 50 miles of the downtown Minneapolis restaurant and
they also enjoy treating themselves every once in a while but who
have not yet dined at Mannys Steakhouse. This group is the most
likely to have a special occasion to celebrate or the financial means to
treat themselves once in a while to a juicy delicious steak. I write to
this particular audience because, like myself, they like to enjoy
themselves and like enjoying their food.
My Secondary group of readers is going to be Instructor Kaser who will
be reading this in order to give me feedback so I can effectively write a
review about Mannys Steakhouse. A tertiary group would be my peers
who will also give me feedback and help form the way I will write.
Objective: I not only want my reader to visit Mannys Steakhouse,
but also enjoy their entire experience at Mannys Steakhouse like many
people have including many well-known celebrities that you are able to
see on their wall and as well the same experience I have had myself.
Argument: In my review, I will argue that the quality of the meats
and the unapologetically over-the-top portions (Star Tribune, 2008)
along with the knowledge of the servers about everything on their cart,
which is their menu, will make for an unforgettable experience.

Putting a Steak in Excellence

By Zachary Syverson

From the elegance of the

establishment itself to the perfectly
prepared meat they serve, Mannys
Steakhouse is exceptional, great
service, good food, overall amazing
from start to finish.
As soon as one walks through the
door at Mannys Steakhouse they
are greeted by a friendly staff and
also the anatomically exaggerated
portrait of the Mannys bull which
has been a center point in the entry
way of the steakhouse since day
one.
While waiting to be seated take a look the photos on the
wall of presidents, athletes (David
Image of Entry
Way at Mannys
Wilson, Mannys GM) and numerous
other well-known celebrities that have dined here before. To
name a few celebrities that have dined previous to your
visit are of the likes of Ricky Rubio, Shaquille ONeil, John
Travolta, and Derek Jeter.
Much like most restaurants once seated the hostess will
hand you a menu. What makes Mannys Steakhouse
different from most restaurants is that the menu at Mannys
Steakhouse does not contain any entres but rather only
side dishes to accompany the main course options.
The entre menu will come rolling in on the famous Meat
Cart where your veteran server who is well-rehearsed on
the contents of the cart will present it to the table. The

menu is really an
entertaining slideshow
that does include a halfdozen raw plasticwrapped steaks and a
wiggly live lobster.
Among these steaks there
is a 50 ounce bone-in
ribeye, known as The
of Beef the steak has been
deemed part meal, part
weapon.

The source of the delicious

USDA-certified, dry-aged, and
center-cut beef continues to be
from the same Independence,
MO purveyor that has been
supplying the restaurant since
the restaurant opened during
Image of Bludgeon of
Reagan era. Each piece of meat
Beef
is hand trimmed by master butchers before is sent out to
the restaurant to be put on the grill.
If red meat is not for your taste buds than you must not
forget about the fresh Alaskan king crab legs and the stone
crab claws. Both seafood options are excellent entre
alternatives to satisfy your taste buds.
Once the entre comes out and steak is still cooking on the
plate and is cooked to the exact wishes without mistake and
once the first bit of juicy steak hits the taste buds it will
clear up all the hype and excitement behind the
steakhouse. Half way through the steak you will want to
stop but one cannot help but finish off the remainder of the
steak.

The side dishes and appetizers could easily accommodate

two or more people. The hash browns are supposed to
serve up to five people, but if youre like myself it really only
feeds one.
When the first bite of the hash
browns, oozing with butter, and a
side of asparagus goes down you
will never want to stop eating
them.

Oh and to top it all off for dessert

the whiskey bread pudding,
freshly doused with Makers Mark
Bourbon, fills a 25-ounce goblet.
If that is not for your taste buds
then the must try is the hot
fudge and caramel-covered
macadamia nut brownie a la mode.
For subtler pleasures, if the regular 300 bottle wine list is
not enough then there is also an extensive reserve list with
deeper vintages.
Mannys Steakhouse has been the recipient of several
honors including the Minneapolis Star Tribune Restaurant of
the Year in 2008, the 2014 Best Restaurants: Readers Poll,
and several others but most recently Mens Journal placed
Mannys Steakhouse into its 10 Best Steakhouse in The
World. Mannys was placed on the list which includes
Steakhouses in cities such as
New York City, London, Paris,
and Buenos Aires.
Though the restaurant is
divided into the bar area and
the dining room. The one
complaint I have about
Mannys Steakhouse is the noise level. If seated in the bar

area one would expect it to be a bit noisy but it does not

stop in the bar it continues into the dining room as well.
Trying to have a conversation with others at the table during
the busy times is nearly impossible without having to repeat
yourself multiple times so others at the table can hear what
was said.
The wait staff
does deserve
a good amount of credit for the
experience. While our party was
there for dinner and the restaurant
was packed full, our waiter was
always getting back to our table in
a timely manner and other staff
members were always there to help where they could,
getting another drink or clearing an empty plate. One part
that most impressed the party was when completely
finished the crumbs or anything that had fallen off the plate
throughout the course of the meal was then cleaned up,
rather than after the table is empty of people.

With a steak this good it is a quite difficult reservation to get

so if there is a special occasion coming up or just want to
get out and treat yourself be sure to call and make a
reservation and as stated on their website Just come as
you are and eat like never before.
