Assignment: L3-d

Abstract
Reaching to this point in our L3 project, defining the real problem was
finished as well as solutions were generated and selected our artifact
in (L3-A, L3-B, L3-C). What to do now? There are many tasks to
complete our project. Definitely, Here the role of this assignment, L3-D,
appears. This is the assignment of implementation. Many problems,
the remaining tasks of our project, have arisen to us and we wanted to
work on a clear plan because every work without planning will end with
missing. this assignment was conducted in order to prioritize the
remaining tasks of our L3 project based on the evaluation criteria as
well as to put them in a schedule including when the tasks will be
completed (timing) and who will take the responsibility to do it using a
Gantt Chart. Furthermore, this assignment involves going in depth on
our chosen artifact in order to completely be stable with it. After this
work is accomplished, a clear plan will be in our mind about the
remaining tasks until the end of this project whether the steps and
precedence of work or distribution of time and resistibility. This
information clearly shows the importance of this assignment and to
what extend our remaining work depend on it, so it will be very
beneficial to us. In this assignment, the remaining tasks of our L3
project were listed to know what task to focus on, first using a Situation
Analysis (KTSA) table. After that, based on the tasks of the previous
table (KTSA) and its results a schedule (Gantt Chart) is developed to
show the task`s distribution of time and responsibility, work, among
team members. The last thing was done is obtaining our chosen
artifact and buying its parts. Moreover, sketches (drawings) of the
parts were created using SolidWorks including names and numbers of
the parts.

the remaining tasks of the project. Tasks were determined in KTSA

table according three criteria: Timing, Trend and Impact. Each of the
three criteria evaluated by: high concern (H), moderate concern (M)
and low concern (L). In addition, type of K.T. analysis was determined
for each task which is: problem analysis (PA), decision analysis (DA) or
potential problem analysis (PPA). (See table 1.1).

Discussion
K.T. situation analyzes table is very important and urgent for our
project. In this table a list of tasks were prioritized that what have been
done. In this table H=high, M=moderate, and L=Low symbols were
used to show the importance and urgency of each task. Table was
started from evaluation of previous work, preparing KTSA Table,
preparing Gantt chart and finished with the final task which is finishing
the project. Some tasks of the above table have already been finished
like listing, searching and buying the parts. In addition to that the
remaining tasks will be finished step by step until the celebration day.
The KTSA Table will help us to make a Gantt chart and schedule the
tasks to finish our work by date.

Task 2: Gantt chart

Gantt chart is a bar graph that shows when a specific task is to
begin and how long it was taken to complete. the Gantt chart was used
to distribute the remaining tasks for this course on team members with
the estimated time for each one to complete these tasks mentioned in
KTSA. Gantt chart was created on the basis of the KTSA table in task 1
above, which it was used to prioritize our remaining tasks. So, the
Gantt chart could be made easily. The Gantt chart contains three part;
the first is the tasks that must be completed before the celebration
starts, the second part is the time for each task to be done and the
final part is the resources which means the members/ who is/are
responsible to do the tasks. After completing this Gantt chart, it will be
easy to organize our time and apply it in as it is in order to complete
our project with minimum possible problems and conflicts.

Discussion
In this step, creating a Gantt chart was learned and distributed
the tasks listed in the KTSA table and their durations logically
depending on the available remaining time until the day of celebration.
Our Gantt chart was simply constructed using Microsoft Word 2010. As
shown in Table 2.1, which is Gantt chart, the working was started on
30th of November on the KTSA and it was the responsibility of members
1 and 4. While working on KTSA, members numbers 2 and 6 were the
responsible to construct the Gantt chart depending on the tasks
determined in KTSA. After that, members 3 and 5 were responsible for
listing the parts of our artifact while member number 3 were sketching
them. Then, we all spend around two days on shopping and buying the
project parts. Members 2 and 5 checked if the parts are working. Then
working will be continue on L3-D after presenting it to the class. During
working on that assembly plan, KTPPA was evaluated and then
members number 4 and 5 modified the assembly plan. After that, in
final assembling and testing of the artifact will be done that may take
few days to finish it. During this process, also, assignment L3-E will be
finalized and present it to the class. Then we prepare for the
celebration and finalizing the remaining tasks such as; preparing L3
discussion, finalizing the Design Note Book as well as preparing the
posters. In the same time, member 5 was the responsible to record the
videos and take some photos of our assembly. Finally, all the team
tested the project for the last time and makes the final presentation for
the celebration. So, after using a Gantt chart method, all members
know about our remaining tasks, their expected time and the
responsible until the day of celebration. Now, the next task will be
processed, which is sketching the parts.

Task 3: Sketches
The third step in this assignment L3-D is sketching and taking
pictures of the parts needed in our final project using the graphic
software SolidWorks. This task will be done all by member 5. Moreover,
this will give us an initial perception of the form of our project. We will
use SolidWorks program to sketch the parts. After this step will be
completed, we will use the parts sketched in this assignment in order
to use it in the next assignment which is L3-E to assemble the parts

Discussion
After the third task which is sketching all the parts needed in our
final project was finished, this step will help us a lot in completing the
next assignment which is L3-E. The process used to finish this task was
that l some shops were visited and bought most of the parts for our
project. After that we were helped from our experience in the
SolidWorks program because MENG 102 course was joined and learned
how to deal with it in sketching the parts. Throughout the sketching
task actually the real dimensions were not used because they may be
changed when we start working on the project. The next step after

getting the three tasks completed is being prepared to start working on

the next assignment which is L3-E to be on the right track to complete
our final project proficiently.

Conclusion
After finishing this report, more information about the parts have been learned,
which they are being used in our project such as the types of parts, the size, the nature of
work and others. In this report, the Presentation Sandwich structure was used. The main
parts have been mentioned and written about them in separated paragraphs in the work.
Getting information about the parts were gotten from the internet before utilize it or
before doing this report, the whole teams members have little information about the
parts, but now, have all information about each part. At the end, hope, everyone who
reads this report will get enough information about the mentioned parts and also, hope
that the working on our project will benefit us in our life.
