Lesson Schedule
Math language:teacher focus in math words, such as : measure , length,
big things/ small things , meter.
Teacher questions:
What do we mean by meter?
Who can tell me anything that we can measure with ruler/ centimeter?
Grouping students: students will work in small groups/ all students together .
Engage (warm up, review prior knowledge):
Introducing the lesson by recalling previous knowledge and discus it in pairs.
Then , teacher will show students a video explaining the correct way for
measuring thing by using ruler.
Students will be aware. Because the teacher will ask them to stand up and
measure on the board copying from the video by using their rulers .
Core (introduce and practice new concepts & procedures):
1- Teacher will ask student to move to one table to measure different things .
each group will have a writer who will write down each tool they measured
, through writing on apaper.
2- Then teacher will ask students to measure the length of the class by using
their rulers . here the teacher will let students to use rulers , but she will
help them in the end by using meters.
( as introduction for Meter unit).
3- Teacher will play students a video comparing Centimeter with the Meter.
Close (wrap up, discussion, brief review activity or assessment):
Students will play with the teacher by using I Pad . it will help them to use ruler
to measure different things, they will play in groups.
If the I Pad did not work, teacher will apply plan 2.
