Dear Mrs. Rose:

I am writing in reference to the New Graduate Registered Nurse position at VCU Health System.
Currently, I am a senior pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Shenandoah University in
Winchester, Virginia and will be graduating in December. While I ideally would like to work in a
critical care setting, I would strongly consider any RN position that may be available. I am available
to work various schedules, as I am eager to begin my career as a nurse.
As a student nurse, I have gained many hours of clinical experience in several departments including
G.I., Cardiac, Neuro, Orthopedics, and Pediatrics. For my final semester, I am in the
Trauma/Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit taking care of critically ill patients. Ive gained more
experience with critical thinking, medication administration, and collaborating with healthcare
professionals.
This past summer, I had the opportunity to work as a Care Partner in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit
at VCU Health System. I was able to familiarize myself with the hospital and really enjoyed the team
of professionals that I was privileged to work with. They were eager to teach me new skills and
provided excellent patient care. I hope to bring that same attitude and eagerness to my future job
and patients.
It would be an honor to begin my career with such a prestigious hospital. I look forward to speaking
with you further about this wonderful opportunity. I can be reached at (804) 396-0802 or
sbrock11@su.edu. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Sarah E. Brock
