Beforebeginningthelesson,writePEMDASontheboard.Askthe
studentstowriteintheirjournalwhattheythinktheseletters
represent.Allowthemtosharewiththeirshoulderpartnerwhatthey
thinktheacronymmeans.Theteacherwilldividethestudentsinto
cooperativelearninggroupsbyusingnumeralcardslabeled1
through5.Theteacherwillgiveeachstudentanumeralcard.The
studentswillthenworkwithotherstudentswhohavethesame
numbercard.Giveeachgroupapieceofchartpaperandmarkers.
Havethestudentsdividetheirchartpaperinto4sections.Ineach
section,thestudentswillrecordtheirresultstoBowlAFact
(attachedsheetofinstructions).Oncethestudentsarefinished,they
willsharetheirresultswiththeclass.Havethestudentsexplainto
theirFacePartner(thepersonfacingthem)howtheygottheir
answer.Posttheirresultsintheclassroom.
