Undecided. One of my options is to go to law school.
Awards that I have won:
I have been an active student from elementary school. In fourth grade I received the principle award that only on in the class would
receive. Other awards I got thought my elementary years are good citizenship, and academic achievement. In eight grade I won the most
helpful person and even was awarded highest achiever in Spanish. Another award I received in eighth grade was for perfect attendance for
my last two years of my middle school years. I have also been a part of Taekwondo and achieved first place in my first tournament in my
rank. In high school I have received student of the month and have received participation awards for band and marching band.
Community Involvement/ Service:
I have been a part PSR for two years which is an organization in my church that helps teach children about God. In school I have helped
with concession for games at Meachern. I have even helped out at elementary schools like Compton, Varner and powder springs to help
out with events they host.
Extracurricular Activities (list any leadership positions held):
I have been a part of marching band for four years since my freshman year. The last year in marching band I was section leader of my
section which is the clarinet with another section leader. I am also a part of Tri M which is a music honor society. Another club I have
been a part of are student council and BETA club which I have been a part of for two years. Lastly but least I am a part of NHS which is
the national honor society for McEachern for people who have a 3.7 gpa and up.
Work Experience:
I have experience taking care of children form my brothers to family friends. I have also been a translator since how I can speak two
languages.
Has any a summer experience, work, or study been of significance to you? Explain.
Yes, I have family in Mexico and I am so use to living the life here in the United States that I saw how different people live their lives. We
sometimes do not appreciate what we have while others want what you have. That year my freshman year changed my perspectives on
life. I spend my whole summer from the end of May to the beginning of august living with my family while my parents are far away in
Georgia. When I came back it was so different to have your own bed and have an air conditioner. These little things seem so little, but
they make a difference.
What do you consider to be your greatest strengths? Explain

My greatest strength would be having a positive outlook even in difficult times. People would always be in a bad mood, but when have to
see the little things in life that we dont appreciate like waking up from your sleep alive. We will have times of hardship, but that will only
be temporary. I prefer not stressing too much, but live the life I was given. For example if I have been studying for a long period of time
and I missed the show I wanted to see I can always look on the bright side that I could do better on my test and there would be more time
later to see the show when I have time.
What do you consider to be your weaknesses? Explain.
Sometimes I overthink things in my mind such as questions on a test. I could spend time on a problem debating what the right answer is
and most of the times getting the answer wrong. This also cause me to be a slow test taker that works to my advantage on non-timed test,
but could harm me incredibly when it is a timed test.
Give 3 words that describe you. Include specific anecdotes / examples.
1) Respectful- I have never and would never talk back to a teacher even if I know I am the one that is right.
2) Hardworking - I try to do my best in my work and would fix my work repeatedly until I get it the way I want it. . For example on my
Spanish report I exceeded the expectations and worked on it every day and it became one of the best works I did. 3) Thoughtful- I have
always thought about what Im going to say. I try to be considerate to others and would think about my friends birthdays that I never
forget.
Describe a minimum of 1 major setback or disappointment. Include how you either overcame it or reacted to it.
I was disappointed when I figured that I did not get a higher chair placement in band. I have been playing for 6 years and I was fifth chair.
I overcame this by knowing that I am dedicated in band, but there are people in my section who could me more dedicated. I also thought
about how maybe my director wanted stronger people in the lower part. I know Im a well-developed player and a chair placement does
not only determine your success in music. You have to keep moving forward in life and know that not everything is going to go your way
and just work harder next time.
Who or what has been the biggest influence on your life? Why? Please be original and give a thorough explanation.
The biggest influence on my life would have to be my family and its history. The life for both of my parents has not always been a life of
sunshine, but of horrible event that happen in life. I am first generation American and just knowing how privileged I am to be in this
country and knowing how life is in other is difficult countries gives me pride of doing the best I am to prove that I can be for my parents
what the never had which is education and a life with both parents.
In one paragraph, describe why a college should choose you over another student. What do you think you have to offer or how will you
benefit?
I am a hard worker and dont take anything for granted. Success in life is my goal and I would not give up till I achieve my goal.
Meaning education is very important for me and I will try my best to learn more while in college and have great pride to make that college
be better than it was with another grain that will achieve beyond what is expected. I have to offer my appreciation for what I would have
which is the college and not just be anyone else who just does the bare minimum. My talent for music would benefit the music part of the
college. The involvement to the college would be immense with the different clubs I would be a part of to show people how your students
are involved other the just academics.
In one paragraph, explain why you should receive the scholarship and how this organization / company will benefit from your receiving
the monies.
I should receive the scholarship because I know I will be very beneficial and because I will not let the money go to waste. I have been
working very hard through my high school year including my ninth grade year which many people would think of slacking. I will do my
best throughout college also and would be working hard to achieve As and Bs only. You will benefit with the grades I will receive
because i would be very appreciate and study for exams every time. I do not take my education for granted. I think about education as a
treasure and I will make that treasure as bright as it can be. I will make the college better and would not be a regular just going in and out
or one who drops out.
