February 9”, 2010 Dragon Vandals PTO Meeting Minutes Debbie Pyle opened the meeting at 6:15 p.m. ‘Absent: Julie VanBysteren Nicole Thiemann gave the treasurer's report: $2,657.90; She requested .28 for peewee basketball snacks and $3.49 for printer ink (budget for snacks was $50 and $50.28 was spent; budget for ink was $35 and the total was $38.39) A motion was made, seconded, {and passed with no opposition to approve the extra expenses. Debbie asked for approval of the January 12” meeting minutes. A motion was made, seconded, and passed with no opposition to approve the minutes. Leona Lambert brought up the string quartet visitation and stated everyone seemed very excited. Alle Spino reported on food bank volunteer hours. There have been almost 900 volunteer hours. Debbie stated she is watching the PTO biog site and would like to table discussion on this topic until the next meeting. She also thanked Mr. Huwe and Mr. Davis for taking over peewee basketball. Michelle Bautista gave information on the Valentine dinner at the Baptist church. Debbie gave an update on music. She stated there would be a music meeting in the secondary library on Thursday at 12:20. Debbie will hand out the volunteer gift cards at the meeting. Debbie passed out a by-laws addition about a non-political policy to approve. A motion was made, seconded, and passed without ‘opposition to include the addition in our by-laws. Leona Lambert asked for $12 to buy root beer float supplies for the winning class of the soup label collection. A motion was made, seconded, and passed without opposition to spend $12. The PTO book review is still going on. Mr. Lynch will write up what they find. Debbie requested the total pirate carnival budget be $400. A motion was made, seconded, and passed without opposition to spend Lup to $400 on the carnival. Debbie asked for a motion for WRC, Klickitat Food Bank, Meth Action Team, Klickitat Head Start, and ASB classes to have booths at the carnival. A motion was made, seconded, and passed with no opposition to include the groups in the carnival ‘A motion was made, seconded, and passed with no opposition to supply root beer float and face painting supplies for the carnival ‘A motion was made, seconded, and passed with no opposition to pay $4.95 for soup label mailings. ‘A motion was made, seconded, and passed without opposition to give the senior class $200. We did this last year as well and are trying to gift $200 each year. Debbie gave a carnival update: Allie has put together a brochure (program guide) to let people know what's happening. Allie gave price quotes for putting together 300 brochures. A motion was made, seconded, and passed without opposition to spend up to $54 cn the brochures. Debbie also reviewed donations, games, and silent auction items. ‘The next meeting will be March 9” at 6:15 p.m. Debbie adjourned the meeting at 7:16 p.m.
