My name is Delia Martinez. I am a teacher in training

ABC Book: Who Let the Letters Out? Include students names
that begin with that letter or items that start with that letter.
Extra Ideas
*Preposition book: Have students be between, above, under, an item.
*Homophones: Create a picture & sentence for the pair of words.
*Environmental Print: Class favorite cereal, restaurant, etc

*IDEA: Raffle the class books at


the end of the year for children to
keep :)

*ABC: Have students make the letters with their bodies and assign a
letter drawing to each child.
*Other: Books on adverbs (Mary dances swiftly), verbs, & adjectives.

Create an anchor chart with examples of positive


& negative character traits. Also create examples
of speech bubbles of what these traits sound like.
Students write examples of a

Create a book or picture collage of


character traits using the childrens
emotions. Great visual for ELLs!

Character Report Card: Students fill


out grades for a character based on
traits and with evidence for their

between looks and traits. Plus there
is also a dierence between
Emotions and Traits. These are
great anchor charts to do with kids!

Great idea for fairy tales! Using


white butcher paper, the teacher
wrote "Once up a time" at the
beginning of the sheet, and "The
end" at the end. Kids drew and
wrote a story in between

envelope and put a problem along with a
problem/solution worksheet. Have each child
supply a solution. Very easy to dierentiate ;) PLUS
the link provides access to the lesson & certificates
for each child on solving the problem!

Whos bad the pig or the


wolf?
Read this story to get a
new perspective on a
familiar twist!

Using the True Story of the Three


Little Pigs to teach about POV and
each the wolf s perspective.
Tally up whos on the pigs side and the
wolf s side. Then read this story and
ask the poll again. Discuss why their
answers changed.

POV and Perspective using Toy Story!


Discuss the dierent perspectives that each of
the main characters in the clip had. Have
students write the POV from each characters
perspective & dierentiate some students by
giving them this WS where they identify each

Students identify the main idea in a group of


sentences that are mixed up inside an envelope!
For a quick assessment, students record the
main idea on a separate sheet of paper.

Students took out the pictures identified the topic,


chose three details (pictures), and a possible main
idea for the bag. Once students completed all ten
bags they chose one bag to use to write a paragraph
using the main idea and details from the bag. LINK
