S2. We are watching a motor race. The race is 70


laps and the Ferrari is lapping in 137.8 seconds
compared to 138.3 seconds for the Mercedes.
However the Ferrari needs to stop for tyres every
20 laps whereas the Mercedes will only stop once.
A stop for tyres takes 19 seconds. Assuming they
maintain this pace throughout the race and are not
delayed in any way by having to overtake other
cars, who will win the race and by how much?

If I enter a particular number, both machines give


me the same output. What is that number?
